Contactor for Saunum Control Units

An additional contactor is required when the sauna heater exceeds the maximum load capacity of the Saunum control unit.

Saunum control systems are designed to handle up to 20 A load, which corresponds to sauna heaters of approximately up to 12 kW. If the heater power exceeds this limit, the control unit cannot safely switch the load directly.

In such cases, an additional contactor is used to:

• safely control higher-power sauna heaters
• handle the increased electrical load
• extend the lifespan of the control unit and ensure reliable system operation

When is an additional contactor required?

• when the heater power exceeds 12 kW
• when the current exceeds 20 A
• in commercial/public use starting from 9 kW heaters
